Aussie Wildfire!

So the segment that Beyond Tomorrow did on DriveTime aired in Australia over night. They have a page set up now on their program archive, though you can't watch the segment itself. And they seem to think that DriveTime is called DriveTime TV... I don't see what TV has to do with this?

The Aussies are commenting like wildfire over on the DriveTime site. One anonymous commenter wrote, "They made you out to be slightly weird and crazy, but nothing too bad." That's good enough for me!

I've had to pull out my Aussie/English dictionary a few times:

"Mate" <---> "Friend"

"G'day" <---> "Hello"

"Oi oi oi" <---> ????

Hey hey Ravi,well I was just wondering (and I know the tv show Beyond tommoz probably asked you)but what made you want to record yourself going to and from work?

Also not knowing about our aussie aussie aussie chant?
Well I thought every country heard it at the 2000 olympic games when we yelled the chant at the top of our voices,but well not everyone watches the loympics ay?
Well keep up the work I am loving it seeya
Happy driving

Thanks royboy -- American coverage of the 2000 Olympics was pathetic. Most, if not all, was tape delayed (sometimes a day later!) Plus, I was in the midst of grad school at the time, so not a lot of TV for me then.

Re: why I started doing DriveTime, it just seemed the thing to do. The recent piece in the Boston Globe gives some good insights!

I never expected to here that American coverage of ANYTHING would be bad with so many T.V. channels and all. I mean most of our channels that we get on cable are American!!

Oh,and that piece in the Boston was a good read it answered my question thoroughly,thanks.

Anyway keep on driving,
Royboy
