Bloggernaut looks at DriveTime

A couple of weeks ago, I talked with journalist Jessica Berthold (The Bloggernaut) at the Allentown Morning Call about DriveTime. Her article "Behind-the-wheel talk show makes commuting fun" is now available online.

I like her factoid sidebar about DriveTime -- I'm not familiar with Fishing with John but will now check it out!

My spring 2006 course

I'm teaching again this spring in Northeastern University's Multimedia Studies program, but I'm launching a new course -- Special Topics in Multimedia: Convergence Creation

Here's my course description.

This course will explore emerging and converging distribution models for time-based digital content through hands-on projects. Areas of focus to include:
  • mobile video
  • mobile audio / podcasts
  • blogging
  • Flash-based handheld content
  • convergence of the above

Among the core questions to be examined in the class:
  • How do you develop compelling content for these different delivery platforms?
  • How do you develop content that will translate across these platforms?
  • What expectations does the user/audience have with these different types of narratives?

Projects will be supplemented by contemporary readings and content-creator guests.

Greater Boston looks at vlogs

For those in the New England area, Greater Boston will have a segment on video blogs in tonight's show -- and may even take a look at DriveTime. Mike Miliard, who did a nice job of surveying videoblogs in the Boston Phoenix last month, will be a guest.
