I'm teaching again this spring in Northeastern University's
Multimedia Studies program, but I'm launching a new course --
Special Topics in Multimedia: Convergence CreationHere's my course description.
This course will explore emerging and converging distribution models for time-based digital content through hands-on projects. Areas of focus to include:
- mobile video
- mobile audio / podcasts
- blogging
- Flash-based handheld content
- convergence of the above
Among the core questions to be examined in the class:
- How do you develop compelling content for these different delivery platforms?
- How do you develop content that will translate across these platforms?
- What expectations does the user/audience have with these different types of narratives?
Projects will be supplemented by contemporary readings and content-creator guests.
