NECN piece online
NECN quickly posted the live segment I did with Maura Welch and Adam Weiss, "The fun of blogs on the Internet," though I seem to have problems getting it to play on my Mac, despite having the latest version of Windows Media Player installed.
Hmmm....
Good thing I got it on my old friend, Mr. VHS!

I think I'll be on NECN tonight
So I met up with some of the friendly folks at New England Cable News the other morning. They're doing "Web Week" this week. There was some talk of me coming out for a live panel or something...
And then I saw this on the Boston.com Business Filter.
Guess I'll be on!
Update:
I will indeed be on at 6:30 pm (I think they repeat at 9:30 pm, as well). Set those Tivos! (or VCRs if you're like me)

R.I.P. Team USA
So it's all over for Team USA in the World Cup. I "stepped out" down to the Allston Sports Depot to watch the match -- a spirited, if flawed endeavor by the Americans.
A good crowd for a Thursday morning match, though. There was a woman across the bar with a large microphone and headphones capturing ambient noise (screams and cheers). Maybe someone from WBUR?

I'm Becoming a "Thinking Fan"
I've officially started foaming at the mouth over the 2006 World Cup. Sonia spotted the perfect book for me on Sunday as we browsed around the Harvard Book Store (moments before a fine mojito at Daedulus and the utterwonder.com thigh slapping reading at the Plough) -- The Thinking Fan's Guide to the World Cup.

I love this book!
It's become my Bible. I carry it around with me through out the day and turn to it from time to time. 32 writers each write a chapter around one of the countries competing in the World Cup. It's alphabetical.
So far I've learned about Angola, Argentina and Australia.
Tonight, Brazil!

I missed my big Chronicle moment

Well, unbeknownst to me, Chronicle finally aired their interview with me this last Friday as part of their "Friday Finale". I only found out when a DriveTime guest informed me that he saw it (shout out thanks to C. Monks!)
And then someone came up to me at Roche Brothers on Saturday to say she enjoyed the piece. Oddly enough, she was the aunt to the aforementioned C. Monks who had emailed me about the piece.
Apparently a turning of the intern guard at Chronicle prevented me from actually knowing this would air.
Sigh.
And we were home at that exact moment, watching the first episode of Battlestar Galactica 2.0 on DVD.
Chronicle is going to send me a copy (they say) and who knows... maybe they'll re-air the piece?
