DriveTime in Hyphen Magazine

There is a nice write up on DriveTime in the fall issue of Hyphen magazine. Someone came up to me in IKEA a few weeks ago to tell me that they saw the article and today the Creative Director of the magazine gave me some copies.

Ching-In Chen did a nice job encapsulating the history of DriveTime, though my 1984 limerick from Mr. Longo's class at Holmdel High School is mistakenly transcribed as:

There once was a man from the West
Who told all his friends I'm the best
He got shot by a nun
And then kicked Mondale's butt
And now he's as hard as the rest.

The correct poem is as follows:
There once was a man from the West
Who told all his friends, "I'm the best!"
He got shot by a nut
And then kicked Mondale's butt
And now he's as bad as the rest.

It's a nice one-page piece, with a nice little group of screen grab images. The magazine overall is quite nicely designed (and printed!)

Yule Vlog!

When I was kid in New Jersey, we used to put on the old Yule Log on WPIX -- footage of a burning log with Christmas Music. WPIX was known for their innovation, having pioneered one of the earliest forms of interactive telephonic television experiments with TVPIX.

Well it turns out you can download some classic Yule Log moments to your video iPod (or similar handheld device).

With a traveler mug of eggnog, you'll be all set!

Wikake Unveiled!

I've updated the Wikaklog with footage of the Wikake unveiling.

NOVA's Open Production

The PBS series NOVA -- produced in Boston by WGBH -- has launched an Open Production initiative to engage it's audience in the creation of an upcoming documentary titled Car of the Future.

You can look at a draft script and submit your own ideas.

Nice!
